More Pictures of Adrianne Palicki as Wonder Woman

March 31st, 2011 3 comments

The first still picture of Adrianne Palicki as Wonder Woman drew a mixed reaction, but it appears as though that was not the finished costume. Buzzfeed has a few more pictures that look like action shots and in them the costume is slightly different.

What do you think? Which costume do you prefer, the first one (with the shiny pants and the blue boots) or this one?

Anne Hathaway to play Catwoman in next Batman movie

January 19th, 2011 4 comments

It has been confirmed by Warner Brothers that Anne Hathaway will be playing Seline Kyle/Catwoman in the next Batman movie The Dark Knight Rises, directed by Christopher Nolan who has directed the last two live action Batman movies (Batman Begins and The Dark Knight).

Hathaway is best known for her roles in The Devil Wears Prada, Princess Diaries, Get Smart and Alice in Wonderland. This is her first role in a comic book based film.

Inception star Tom Hardy has also been verified to be playing Bane in the same movie. In addition to his breakout performance in Christopher Nolan’s Inception, Hardy has appeared in Black Hawk Down, Star Trek: Nemesis, Minotaur, RocknRolla, and will be appearing in the upcoming adaptation of John le Carré’s Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy. This is his first role in a comic book based film.

Wonder Woman makeup announced

January 18th, 2011 Comments off

MAC Cosmetics is coming out with a line of makeup based on the DC Comics heroine Wonder Woman. The products have names like Spitfire lipstick, Athena’s Kiss lipglass, Themyscira mascara, and Spirit of Truth nail lacquer.  Some of them have been collected in Utility Belts (?) containing Eye Brushes or Face Brushes.

Most of the women I know are loyal to the makeup they buy and I doubt if they will drop it just because the Wonder Woman logo is on the package, but I am not the target audience for this product. I think it is interesting that while most of the names of the actual products are related in some way to Wonder Woman, some of the words and imagery of the official announcement at screams of Batman (and for some reason, it ends with the word ‘Shazam!’)

The line launches in the US and Canada on February 10 2011 and internationally in March 2011.

The following was posted on Eric Martin’s Facebook page:

My name is Michael Martin, I am Eric’s brother. I hate to pass this information so informally but I didn’t know any other way to reach many of Eric’s friends. My brother Eric died yesterday (Nov 18th) in his sleep from a massive heart attack. I dont have any information regarding his arrangements but you can all rest assured his wishes are being carried out.

The Comic Book Noise Family extends their most heartfelt condolences to Eric’s family and will be observing a week of Mourning.
