The first still picture of Adrianne Palicki as Wonder Woman drew a mixed reaction, but it appears as though that was not the finished costume. Buzzfeed has a few more pictures that look like action shots and in them the costume is slightly different.

What do you think? Which costume do you prefer, the first one (with the shiny pants and the blue boots) or this one?
Adrianne Palicki (formerly of ‘Friday Night Lights’, one of Mike’s favorite TV shows) has been cast as Wonder Woman on the upcoming TV series presumably with the same name. The first image of her was recently revealed on EW.com.
What do you think of the casting in general and the look in particular?

Inception star Tom Hardy has also been verified to be playing Bane in the same movie. In addition to his breakout performance in Christopher Nolan’s Inception, Hardy has appeared in Black Hawk Down, Star Trek: Nemesis, Minotaur, RocknRolla, and will be appearing in the upcoming adaptation of John le Carré’s Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy. MAC Cosmetics is coming out with a line of makeup based on the DC Comics heroine Wonder Woman. The products have names like Spitfire lipstick, Athena’s Kiss lipglass, Themyscira mascara, and Spirit of Truth nail lacquer. Some of them have been collected in Utility Belts (?) containing Eye Brushes or Face Brushes.
Most of the women I know are loyal to the makeup they buy and I doubt if they will drop it just because the Wonder Woman logo is on the package, but I am not the target audience for this product. I think it is interesting that while most of the names of the actual products are related in some way to Wonder Woman, some of the words and imagery of the official announcement at temptalia.com screams of Batman (and for some reason, it ends with the word ‘Shazam!’)
The line launches in the US and Canada on February 10 2011 and internationally in March 2011.
The Detroit News has a very interesting and in-depth article on the history behind the making of the new MMO ‘DC Universe Online’.
