Anne Hathaway to play Catwoman in next Batman movie

It has been confirmed by Warner Brothers that Anne Hathaway will be playing Seline Kyle/Catwoman in the next Batman movie The Dark Knight Rises, directed by Christopher Nolan who has directed the last two live action Batman movies (Batman Begins and The Dark Knight).

Hathaway is best known for her roles in The Devil Wears Prada, Princess Diaries, Get Smart and Alice in Wonderland. This is her first role in a comic book based film.

Inception star Tom Hardy has also been verified to be playing Bane in the same movie. In addition to his breakout performance in Christopher Nolan’s Inception, Hardy has appeared in Black Hawk Down, Star Trek: Nemesis, Minotaur, RocknRolla, and will be appearing in the upcoming adaptation of John le Carré’s Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy. This is his first role in a comic book based film.

    i am very happy about this. i think that Hathaway will make a great catwoman. She is very sexy and immensely talented.

    Further I have no idea what they are going to do with bane, but I trust in Nolan!

    The only things I have ever seen Anne Hathaway in was the first hour of that extremely painful 'Devil Wears Prada' movie and 'Get Smart', but I wasn't expecting much from Heath Ledger before the last movie either so we'll see.

    I hope he makes Bane a major villain and a real threat (unlike the Schumacher debacle).

    Looks like good casting to me. I like Derek hope Bane is more of a badass then the Schumacher Bane. I want to see some back breaking.
