It seemed like he was able to better use the sharks abilities than any other animal. I know an upcoming issue has something to do with a whale-like creature from the Green Lantern Corps, so you may be on to something. I really hope he doesn't become like Aquaman though. I don't know if that will pan out because this series is supposed to be set in the not-to-distant future. Something like 10 or 15 years forward from the current DCU continuity.
